Master Student
Chemical and Biological Engineering
Faculty of Applied Science
Arman is currently a master's student at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He did his undergraduate studies at the Sharif University of Technology, Iran. As his master’s thesis under the supervision of Dr. Fariborz Taghipour, he worked on the development of an unprecedented chemical-free point-of-use water treatment photoreactor for simultaneous microbial and organic contaminant degradation, enabled by emerging ultraviolet sources such as ultraviolet light-emitting diodes (UV-LEDs) and Microplasma-UV lamps. His expertise resides in UV-based advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) and photoelectrochemical systems. Arman presented a part of his research accomplishments in the 69th Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference (CCEC) and is in the process of preparing several peer-review journal articles.
