Alice Guimaraes is majored both in Civil Engineering and Biological Sciences. She also holds a MSc. degree in Ecology with a focus on aquatic ecosystems. She has 10+ years of experience in engineering consultancy and mining industry. She is currently a PhD student in Mining Engineering supervised by Dra Nadja Kunz. Her research is focused on investigating water-related risks (physical, reputational and regulatory) and water stewardship in mining developments. Her areas of expertise are related to aquatic biodiversity, limnology and water management, environmental assessments, environmental impact studies, and water risk assessments. Her interests are directed towards the multifaceted issues around water management and collaborative initiatives to address water issues globally.
